Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, my roots began in Worland Wyoming and have been firmly planted ever since.
I grew up on a little farm outside of town, where I got to help raise and show all manners of animals. But my love for all things country really began at the young age of three.

Whether it was feeding bum lambs in a basket or running through muddy ditches stark naked, I loved being outside around nature and animals. I was fortunate to spend those first three years my life at my grandpas ranch before he passed away of cancer in 1998. Hard work and dedication. That's what a real cowboy is, and that is what my grandpa was. Even now as an adult anytime I saddle up my horse with one of his old saddles I feel nearer to him. Though my time on earth with him was short, I attribute my love for country life to him. And after the horse fly bit me there was no going back, I've been hooked ever since.

Over the years I was blessed to have many different breeds of horses to learn on and grow. There was Bun the Mustang who was grandma proof, Gigalo the Shetland pony who you could put your mother-in-law on if you didn't like her, and many others in between. All of them which still hold a special place in my heart and taught me more than one life lesson.

I spent a few short years away from horses, just being a teenager and going to school. And in that time I was in an accident that left my left neck, shoulder, arm, and hands completely torn. Being told your muscles will continue to atrophy because of the damage and would someday become completely immobile on that side, really crushed my spirit. I have always done things with my hands, and I love building and creating. So me being who I am, there was no way I was going to stop trying to do the things I love. I would not let my pain define me.

That is how 3Heart Equine Massage and Rehab came to fruition. I know how it feels to not have your body functioning properly. So the decision to become a voice for horses was easy.  I still have days I'm not sure if I can make it though the pain without help. Being an empathetic person can be challenging at times, but that's what makes working with horses so natural and easy for me. I pick up on how people are feeling by their body language, and in-turn I am able to know how to react to certain situations. How wonderful is it that that's how horses communicate too!

Some people may say they know a bad horse when they see one, but it takes all of your senses to determine that! Do they SEE and FEEL the underlying problems as to why the horse kicks, bites, or rears? There is a solution to every problem. And lucky day, I have quite a few for you!

I have studied hands on with all types of breeds, temperaments, etc. And its always about finding the root of the problem. I have this beautiful palomino gelding who had biting issues, I tried everything to get him to stop pinning his ears when you went to touch him. It took a lot of time and many different routes, but oddly enough rubbing his muzzle calmed him down.  It was a sensory thing for him, but viola it worked! I was able to preform a light body massage, only to discover that stomach ulcers  were the main culprit. So this horse we had just bought wasn't a bad horse  he was just in pain!

The mare pictured below is a saint, and a love-bug to boot!  When I recieved her at the ripe age of 21 she was in dire need for some dental TLC. I wasn't completely shocked to discover that she has problems with TMJ. This makes chewing and swallowing very hard, she would throw her head to the side and drool struggling to get food down. But by being an Equine Massage Therapist I am able to use my knowledge of trigger points to help release and relax the surrounding muscles. So this sweet Mama no longer struggles to eat! Don't let that sweet face fool ya though, she's VERY good at bolting her food now. (Insert face palm!)

My mission at 3 Heart Equine Massage and Rehab is to feel the areas of tension your horse is experiencing and alleviate it. So that you and your best pal can get back to doing the things you love, just as I am able to be back doing the things I love.
